Tribute to the Three Kings: Albert, B.B and Freddie
Hugh's Room Forced to Move Due to Rent Hike

As many of you will now have heard, that despite months of negotiations with our landlord, we have failed to come to agreement on terms based on fair market value. As a result we will be forced to close our doors at our current location on March 31, 2020.

It is our intention to honour as many of our show bookings and tickets as possible, but it is going to take us a bit of time to secure an alternate venue. We are confident that all shows on the calendar will have a home and as soon as an alternate venue is secured, we will be notifying all ticket holders immediately. We ask patrons to kindly not reach out to our box office for updates in the interim.

Albert King is truly a "King of the Blues," although he doesn't hold that title (B.B. does). Along with B.B. and Freddie King, Albert King is one of the major influences on blues and rock guitar players. Without him, modern guitar music would not sound as it does -- his style has influenced both black and white blues players from Otis Rush and Robert Cray to Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It's important to note that while almost all modern blues guitarists seldom play for long without falling into a B.B. King guitar cliché, Albert King never does -- he's had his own style and unique tone from the beginning.

Riley B. King known professionally as B.B. King, was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. King introduced a sophisticated style of soloing based on fluid string bending and shimmering vibrato that influenced many later blues electric guitar players.

King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, and is one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, earning the nickname "The King of the Blues", and is considered one of the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" (along with Albert and Freddie King). King performed tirelessly throughout his musical career, appearing on average at more than 200 concerts per year into his 70s. In 1956 alone, he appeared at 342 shows.

Freddie King was an American blues guitarist and singer. He recorded several hits for Federal Records in the early 1960s. His soulful and powerful voice and distinctive guitar style inspired many musicians, particularly guitarists. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

Featuring Danny Marks, Jack de Keyzer, Steve Strongman and Dylan Wickens.
